Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s Central Information Secretary Omar Sarfarz Cheema on Friday said that the government should have taken all stakeholders on board before making decision to give away agriculture lands to the gulf countries. He also said Pakistan is a water deficient country with a water shortage of approximately 55 percent and by giving away agricultural lands to these countries will mean that it will lock up the water resource in the agriculture sector.

"We need to analyse that it is an opportunity of foreign investment or they are investing because of sense of food scarcity all-over the world. It seems more like it that leadership of both the PPP and PML-N just want to pay back for the support from these countries they enjoyed during their self exile," he added.
